Visitor of the Day: Sue and Mike Presley

This is Sue and Mike Presley of Mint Hill, North Carolina. They are in front of the quilt “Stripescape” by Kaffe Fassett in the exhibit “Kaffe Fassett: 85 & Fabulous.” And these foster parents are displaying photos of 15 of their 20 grandchildren!

Of the quilt, Kaffe hand-pieced and hand-quilted  it for his book “Simple Shapes, Spectacular Quilts.” He cut long strips of striped fabrics in ranges of rusts, pinks, and other rich medium-toned colors, being careful not to line up the stripes to achieve an organic unevenness.
