*SPECIAL The Butterfly Jubilee
A fun family event…join us on Saturday, May 9th, 2026 from 11 am – 2 pm – Make a wish and release a live butterfly in TQM’s Grandmother’s Flower Garden at The Butterfly Jubilee! Also enjoy many other family activities including the "Airing of the Quilts", live music, food, "Plant-a-Memory" gardening activity, "My Favorite Quilt" family activity, The Great Story Fairy, have fun at the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter’s Adopt-a-Pet “Snuggle Station”, explore the Butterfly Garden Safari Game, ride the M-K-T “Butterfly Express” children’s train, M-K-T Depot Tours, Shopping Fun & more! (Enjoy seeing model trains for National Train Day, too!) For more information or to purchase your butterfly, please go to our website at: www.TexasQuiltMuseum.org.
This fundraising event benefits the efforts to save the Grandmother’s Flower Garden at the Texas Quilt Museum and is in collaboration with the M-K-T Depot Museum, the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter, the La Grange Garden Club, the Colorado Valley Quilt Guild, La Grange Mainstreet & Visitors Bureau, and Texas Commission on the Arts.
*You do not need to be present to release your butterfly. We have invited area school children to help us release butterflies for those who live too far away. We will be filming this special event, and it will be made available on TQM’s YouTube Channel soon after the event. So, feel free to make a wish and know that your butterfly is in good hands, while you are supporting the Texas Quilt Museum! =)
