*SPECIAL The Butterfly Jubilee

A fun family event…join us on Saturday, May 9th, 2026 from 11 am – 2 pm – Make a wish and release a live butterfly in TQM’s Grandmother’s Flower Garden at The Butterfly Jubilee! Also enjoy many other family activities including the "Airing of the Quilts", live music, food, "Plant-a-Memory" gardening activity, "My Favorite Quilt" family activity, The Great Story Fairy, have fun at the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter’s Adopt-a-Pet “Snuggle Station”, explore the Butterfly Garden Safari Game, ride the M-K-T “Butterfly Express” children’s train, M-K-T Depot Tours, Shopping Fun & more! (Enjoy seeing model trains for National Train Day, too!) For more information or to purchase your butterfly, please go to our website at: www.TexasQuiltMuseum.org.

This fundraising event benefits the efforts to save the Grandmother’s Flower Garden at the Texas Quilt Museum and is in collaboration with the M-K-T Depot Museum, the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter, the La Grange Garden Club, the Colorado Valley Quilt Guild, La Grange Mainstreet & Visitors Bureau, and Texas Commission on the Arts.

*You do not need to be present to release your butterfly. We have invited area school children to help us release butterflies for those who live too far away. We will be filming this special event, and it will be made available on TQM’s YouTube Channel soon after the event. So, feel free to make a wish and know that your butterfly is in good hands, while you are supporting the Texas Quilt Museum! =)

Kids’ BEGINNER English Paper Piecing Quilt Camp

Monday, June 29 - Thursday, July 2, 2026
TWO CLASSES TO CHOOSE FROM!
Morning Class - 9 am - Noon - OR - Afternoon Class: 1 pm - 4:00 pm

Special Exhibit on Thursday, July 2 - AM Class @ 11:00 am and PM Class @ 3pm!

This is a TQM class sponsored in part by The Lucille Gaebler Klein Fund!

ENGLISH PAPER PIECING QUILT CAMP - Ever built something amazing out of building blocks? English Paper Piecing—also called EPP—is just like that, but with fabric! Kids will use small paper shapes (like hexagons or diamonds) as little “helpers” to fold fabric around. Then they stitch the shapes together by hand to make colorful patterns that fit together like a puzzle.

It’s slow, relaxing, and totally magical—perfect for busy hands and big imaginations. Whether you’re making a flower, a coaster, or a whole quilt, EPP lets you create something awesome one tiny piece at a time.

This 4-day camp includes a daily snack and all materials for you to start stitching your masterpiece! Fee based at $80 per camp.

Hands-on fun!

Kids will create a quilt project to take home in 4-days!

Envelop yourself in serene surroundings and let the healing sound of music wash over you!  Waves of soothing, echoing sound from traditional wind and percussion instruments, also known as a “sound bath,” may help with stress, fatigue, depression, and illness.  Dress comfortably, bring a yoga mat if you have one.  Lead by Doady Rogers ($10.00 for a one-hour session / special events may dictate other fees)
